POSITION: Custodial Worker (Housekeeper) NA-3566-02 SALARY: $10.50 – 12.25/PH
EMPLOYMENT CATEGORY: Full Time (Scheduled to work 40 hours weekly. May be required to work weekends and holidays. Eligible for ALL group benefits.)

DUTIES: On a daily basis dust, wax/polish furniture; empty ashtray/wastebasket and make beds. Clean, sanitize, and/or deodorize bathrooms (including sinks, showers, floors, toilets) ensuring bathrooms are properly restocked with supplies, amenities and towels. Sweep, dry mop, wash and polish floors using brooms, mops, and commercial vacuum cleaners. Clean/sanitize kitchen area, wash kitchen utensils and restock beverage kits. Change bed linen on a weekly basis unless guest checks out. Upon checkout, complete daily duties and replace all bed linen, bath linen, track liners, ice bucket liner, defrost refrigerator, clean sills, mirrors and ensure room is ready for occupancy. Count and sort linen removed from individual rooms and prepare linen in/out report (including reporting missing linen). Report damaged or missing items in room, common areas, etc. Bag/tag lost/found valuables and report illegal substance in room. Perform deep cleaning on an as required basis. Perform various other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge of cleaning procedures, cleaning equipment, commonly used chemicals (including MSDS) and skill sufficient to read signs, must be able to communicate clearly and effectively in English both verbally and in writing with management, staff and guest. follow simple oral and written instructions from management, staff and guests. Must have the ability to work safely while moving lightweight objects. The incumbent is expected to work towards and obtain certification in housekeeping.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS: Considerable standing, bending, walking, pushing, pulling and climbing. Moderately physical effort unassisted lifting, moving and carrying of supplies and equipment weighing up to 45 pounds, and occasionally objects weighing over 50 lbs. May be required to climb/descent stairs and properly placed stepladders. Work is typically performed indoors, in areas that normally have adequate heat, light and ventilation. Exposed to dirt and disagreeable odors. Exposed to minor injuries. Personal protective equipment is provided.
NOTE: As a condition of employment, selectee(s) will be required to participate in the Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer within the first 60 days of employment. This is the DOD standard method of payment of personnel. Employees will be subject to administrative action for failure to enroll unless a waiver has been obtained.
