POSITION: Lead Bartender/NL-7405-05                                                  SALARY: $12.44- $14.51/ PH

 

EMPLOYMENT CATEGORY: Flexible (May be scheduled to work up to 40 hours weekly, May be required to work weekends, holidays, and evenings. No Group Benefits Included)

DUTIES: Receives orders from patrons, cocktail waiters/waitresses, mixes and serves a variety of alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages from a full service bar following standard recipes. Receives and records payment at time of sale. Prepares bar condiments by peeling, slicing, and cutting a variety of fruits. Ensures that the bar and bar area is maintained in a clean and sanitary condition at all times, and that all trash from the bar is removed at the end of the shift and deposited in the designated containers. Ensures that bars are adequately stocked, that clear accountability for inventory is maintained between bar stations and bartenders, prepares bar personnel work schedules, recommends approval/disapproval for leave and recommends markings for bar personnel performance evaluations. Interviews applicants for employment in the bar department and recommends management action to be taken. In cooperation with the supervisor, develops price changes for bar drinks based on changes in cost of supplies and labor. Orients newly-hired bartenders to the activity, their work station, operation of the cash register, cash handling, check cashing policy, and cash turn in and bar lockup procedures. Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS: The knowledge and skill of measuring, mixing and serving of a wide variety of drinks is needed. Must be able to count change fast and accurately. Must be able to perform simple arithmetic functions. Minimum experience of two years bartending in a full- range bar is required.  

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIORONMENT: Works inside with adequate heat and light. May be exposed to loud music and to the possibility of cuts and bruises and slipping on wet floors. Walks and stands for prolonged periods. Frequently lifts objects up to 5 pounds and, occasionally, objects up to 35 pound
